I am so glad (and relieved) that I can finally say that! I feel like this quilt took more time than usual to complete, and I blame that on all the FMQ and my lack of desire to sit down and do it… Because it’s scary.
I am pleased with the finished project, and my husband likes it too, which is a bonus. It’s always a treat to get compliments from the person whose opinion you value the most.
William and I went to the park today to take some pictures in the same spot as my Feathers quilt, although I think next time we should go in the morning as the lighting wasn’t quite right. I’m getting no photography awards for this one 😛 However, this part of the process also needed to get done, and done is better than perfect in my book.
At this point Wildwood will remain a couch quilt, as it doesn’t really go with the colour schemes in any of the bedrooms (yet). Until then, it will be great for snuggling 🙂
Yesterday, after finishing up the binding, I got right to cleaning up my craft room. I usually keep the scraps of binding left over from squaring up the quilt, but I have a ton of scraps in a grocery bag, and I really just needed to purge some junk out of my room! I think I filled half a garbage bag with random crap and it felt so good. The floor was also a disaster with batting bunnies and thread clippings everywhere; it was cleansing to give it a good vacuum and have a clean space to work in. We’ll see how long that lasts!
