Do you pack up your sewing machine and take it with you on vacation? If only it were that simple, just the machine… Add in the fabric, UFOs, notions, rulers, mat… It becomes a large, heavy box quickly! I think it would be so neat to see what you all are taking with you, wherever you are going; camping, the cottage, visiting family, wherever! Let’s call it #sewingoutoftown , you can link up with my Instagram account below and post a pic of your own sewing adventures “out of town” for the summer.
What’s in my box you ask? Well, the makings of a quilt back for my current project, the pattern and special ruler for my next project, my English paper piecing kit and project, the bias strips for finishing off my clover Bess top, and a whole lot of scraps for some foundation piecing I plan on getting started. It does seem like a lot, but I would rather have too much to do than too little. What I am leaving behind? My large cutting mat and 24″ ruler. Will I live to regret only bringing a 12″ set… It’s possible!
Where is this box destined? To my parents’ farm for a couple of weeks, culminating with a family reunion and my entire immediate family in one house for a weekend. That’s 11 people and two bathrooms. Wish me luck! (OK, we’re cheating and bringing the trailer, but still).
So, the chores are done, the car is packed, what are you packing for #sewingoutoftown ?
