It’s been a busy week here at home, and the days just flew by! The weather has improved and the sun is shining, so that means wearing some spring and summer clothing finally. It also means pulling dandelions from the lawn, fertilizing, getting a little sunburnt, trying out new sunscreens and trying to drink more water. I accept the good along with the not so good!
Early in the week I finally cut into the Liberty fabric for this Wicksten tank; at that moment, playing with the beautiful colours, it finally felt like spring! I decided to use some ivory cotton lawn in my stash for the neckline and armhole binding strips, and I also used this method for the hem. This Liberty print is Michelle A, and it is definitely one of my favourites.
I also made a key fob with a scrap of fabric and and a Dritz hardware kit I purchased. Sometimes it really is the simple things that make me happy.
Yesterday we had an appointment in the city, and I wore my versatile new creation with jeans and a smile. It is Me Made May after all! I don’t have enough handmade summer weight clothing to wear a handmade item each day, so I’m participating at random this year. My hope is that next year I will have completed more of the sewing projects swimming around in my head, and will be able to actually take the ‘pledge’ and participate in full.
